1. What are Cookies and Similar Technologies?

Cookies are small text files or similar technologies (such as Local Storage or Session Storage) stored on or accessed from a user’s device. They support secure website operation, technical functionality and user preferences. Cookies generally do not directly identify an individual but may be associated with personal data depending on their use.

2. Cookies Used on the Official Website

The official website (www.europe-china-robotics.org) primarily serves as an information platform. It currently uses only strictly necessary cookies and session technologies required for website operation, rendering and security. The Association does not intentionally deploy advertising cookies, behavioural tracking, profiling technologies or third-party analytics tools. Website hosting services are provided by IONOS SE, Germany.

3. First-party and Third-party Cookies

The Association primarily uses first-party cookies generated by the official website. Third-party cookies will only be introduced where external services are integrated and where permitted by applicable law. If legally required, user consent will be obtained before non-essential third-party cookies are activated.

Preliminary cookie inventory (strictly necessary): the specific cookie names, providers and durations are being confirmed through a technical scan and will be published here once available. Pending that scan, the strictly necessary cookies expected on the website are, as a rule, limited to: (i) a session cookie used for basic page functionality and security, typically deleted when the browser is closed; and (ii) where applicable, a cookie used to remember that no consent banner is currently required because only strictly necessary cookies are in use. Completing the technical scan does not change the legal basis set out in Section 5; it only adds the specific technical detail.

5. Legal Basis

Storage of or access to information on a user’s device is based on Section 25(2) No. 2 TDDDG where strictly necessary. Where personal data are processed, the legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Optional cookies will only be activated after consent under Section 25(1) TDDDG and Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR.

Users may manage or delete cookies through browser settings (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge). If a Cookie Consent Banner is deployed, users may modify or withdraw their choices at any time via “Cookie Settings”. Disabling strictly necessary cookies may affect website functionality.

7. Updates and Technical Consistency

This Cookie Policy may be updated to reflect legal or technical changes. In the event of any inconsistency between this Policy and the actual technical configuration of the website, the Association will update this Policy or the separate Cookie Inventory to ensure accuracy and transparency.
