European Commission Publishes AI Act Transparency Guidelines

New Commission guidance explains Article 50 transparency obligations that apply from 2 August 2026.
The European Commission published guidelines on 20 July 2026 to assist providers and deployers of AI systems in implementing the transparency obligations set out in Article 50 of the EU AI Act.
The guidance clarifies the scope of the rules, relevant legal definitions, obligations and exceptions. Article 50 transparency obligations apply from 2 August 2026.
For robotics companies integrating AI into products or services, the publication forms part of a broader European regulatory environment involving AI governance, product safety, machinery, cybersecurity and conformity requirements.
